Music
started for me at a very early age. I would spend countless hours watching
Michael Jackson's 'Moonwalker' and 'Stop making sense' by Talking Heads she i
was young. And on my 6th birthday i received a Yamaha keyboard which i would
use relentlessly.
Throughout
my teenage years i played in bands but then moved to playing solo after my old
band 'Waiting For Sirens' split. The name 'The Lion and the Wolf' is the name
of one of the first songs i wrote when i went solo, i liked the name and
decided to use it as my alias. Basically i didn't want to be just another
singer songwriter 'Tom George'. My
influences range from lots of different acts, from acts such as Paul Simon and
Peter Gabriel through to modern day acts like Ray Lamontagne and Fences. I take
influence from so much around me, love, loss moving onwards and upwards are a
few areas i guess i write about the most. Ultimately i want to give out a
positive message even though some of the lyrics may appear sad.
Thomas
George's solo act 'The Lion and the Wolf' has an incredibly intimate feel with
his live performance which is complimented by lo-fi home recordings all done in
the name of the DIY ethic. This is replicated beautifully through a haunting
and passionate live show which often sees TLATW step away from the mic and walk
around the crowd singing his message. Having toured all over the UK countless
times, and played countless venues, living rooms, gardens, kitchens and
festivals. TLATW is sure to bring an uplifting and meaningful experience to the
audience.
